Acesulfame Potassium
Also known as Ace-K. A non-nutritive, low calorie sweetener discovered in 1967 and approved by the FDA. Since Acesulfame-Potassium is 200 times sweeter than sucrose (table sugar), only a small amount is needed to sweeten a product. Acesulfame-Potassium is currently used in more than 1,000 products around the world, for example: desserts, baked goods, soft drinks, candies, canned foods and pharmaceutical products.

Guarana
A nut-like seed of a climbing vine that primarily grows in Brazil. The guaraná plant has divided compound leaves and flowers yellow panicles during the driest months of the year, the fruit ripening about two to three months later. The fruit is pear shaped, three sided, has three-celled capsules with thin partitions and in each a seed like a small horse-chestnut half enclosed in an aril. The seeds form a bunch. When ripe, the fruit is red, with some orange and yellow tones. The fruit then partially opens, showing part of the seeds.

Invert Sugar
Created by combining a sugar syrup with a small amount of food acidulant and heating. This inverts, or breaks down sucrose into its two components, glucose and fructose The process of making jams and jellies automatically produces invert sugar by combining the natural acid in the fruit with granulated sugar and heating the mixture. Because of its fine crystal structure, invert sugar produces a smoother product and is used in making syrups. It is found in many sweetened beverages.

Yerba Maté
(Ilex paraguariensis) is a small tree native to the subtropical highlands of Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina. The leaves of this plant have been used as a tea for centuries. Yerba Maté is a natural source of caffeine. The amount of caffeine that is found in Yerba Mate is similar to that found in most tea. However in our product only a small amount of Yerba Mate is used so the amount of caffeine in the total beverage coming from Yerba Maté is much less than that found in decaffeinated coffee or tea. It is safe for use in foods and is on the Federal Drug Administration's GRAS list (generally regarded as safe).
